But Destinations is even worse value for what it adds. Societies still doesn’t compare to the orchestrated intricacy of SimCity 2000, and that still isn’t good enough. That price for just Societies, on the other hand, gets easier to justify with each update.

At the price, plus the money you’ll spend for the core game, Destinations is hard to recommend. If you want a challenge, it’s there aplenty. The Strategic game mode needs a lot more balancing – something I suspect will happen in the next update. Getting anyone at all to visit your landswill takea few hours ofwork. The original Creative game mode, now sprinkled with Destinations’ tourism and the numerous improvements makes for a more distracting (if still overly easy) time. As your tradition adjustments, Particular Sims will seem and have an effect on your game in shocking methods, for each good and unhealthy. Modify the energies at your whim to get the type of look you need, from Cyberpunk to Romantic to Haunted and lots of extra. Create an artistic society or a police state, an industrial city or a spiritual community-or any. SimCity Societies Deluxe Edition Pre-Put in Game. Make your cities green or polluted, contemporary or futuristic, rural or urban. Why not?! And the engine still can’t cope with its own game, staggering with a medium-size city. As an amusing aside, EA, in the fall of 2008, bundled the original SC:S and Destinations along with SC4 on a single disk that sold for the same price as SC4, which remains among the top-selling PC games years after its release, sold for previously.What don’t we like? The most ridiculous part of Societies is still the ability to spam the map with various Decorations to increase points in various required categories. The company also developed an expansion pack: SC:S Destinations, which was so lame EA elected to not even distribute it on a disk. Since the game's release, TM has tried futilely to make it work, posting five "patches" as of January, 2009. SC:S was greeted with almost universal revulsion, if not nausea and vomiting, by the SimCity community, which quickly filled the TM SimCity:Societies forums with complaints. Its sales were dismal, and EA very quickly began treating it like a red-headed stepchild.
